/ NAME Kalyka is a deliberate misspelling of the name Kalika, which may or may not mean "rosebud" in Greek. Popular baby name books tend to say it does and, as a teenager looking for an exotic name for my domain, I believed what I read. I discovered much later that Kalika is also an alternate name for the Hindu goddess, Kali, a connection I quite like./ THEMES Over time, the domain developed certain themes that still echo. Based on concepts invoked by the word kalyka and what it may or may mean, those themes include roses, goddesses and other divine females, as well as things related to antiquity. The last theme stems more from my own interest in history and mythology than any real connection to kalyka, but it continues to permeate most of my creative endeavors./ TECHNICAL The domain is registered through REGISTER.COM, and is currently hosted on GODADDY.COM. In the past, it was hosted by MICROWORLD.COM, but I do not recommend them. The pages for this domain are all coded by hand in Notepad, and the images are edited using an archaic version of Paint Shop Pro.
